Student Association - FIN.COM Association
(Finance &Computer Application Association). An association named as Fin .Com was started by our students. The Fin.Com association was inaugurated on 20th August 2003. The Vice-Chancellor of Bharathiar University Prof. Dr. S. Sivasubramanian delivered the inaugural address and the special address was delivered by Dr. C. Subramanian, Registrar, Bharathiar University. The Professor and Head, Department of commerce, Dr .M.Manickam delivered the presidential address.
The tradition continues with students developing skills through cooperation. They established five clubs for overall development and manage events, leadership, and funds.
| The ZENITH club conducts seminars and guest lectures by inviting industrial experts to provide insight to the latest developments in finance and computer science field. | |
| The PASTEL is the entertainment club and it is formed in organizing cultural events. To enhance the computer skills and to make the students aware of the happening in the information technology sector, the club ZERO’S AND ONE’S was established. | |
| WALLSTREET concentrates in bringing about the speculative skills of the students. Besides carrying out mock trading activities, innovative games based on the stock market are also conducted. | |
| SABARMATHI is the social service club which is involved in arranging social service activities such as blood donation camps, participating as volunteers in service organizations and in general they are always ready to lend a helping hand. |
Besides the above, on every Tuesday, student’s session is conducted. During this session, the students will interact with each other by discussing current affairs related to commerce and finance. The student’s also discuss the merits and de-merits of the day-to-day activities of the business, which helps them in bringing out solutions for the various problems faced by the business organizations. Debates are conducted to know the two-sides of the coin and the students come out with their own views which lead to increase their thinking capacity, language and self-confidence. Quiz competitions develop the updating of day-to-day facts. Share Market games enhance the students to know the speculator and the investor based on the end of the day trading, as it gives confidence to the students to invest or to enter in the share market business in near future. The programme is organized by students themselves, in order to overcome their stage fear and develop soft skills.
These clubs help the students in identifying their versatile skills and knowledge. The clubs facilitate the students to participate in inter-collegiate competitions, seminars, workshops and conferences. The scholars train the students in preparing paper presentations and articles for publications. FIN.COM Association helps the students in increasing their planning capacity, organizing capability, coordinating and decision making in various aspects. Also, the students are conducting an inter-collegiate competition in the name of “COMFEST” every year.
